Please do not attend Mount Road Surgery, pharmacy or hospital if:

  • you think you might have coronavirus
  • in the last 14 days you've been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus – see NHS coronavirus advice for travellers
  • you've been in close contact with someone with coronavirus

NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do. This can be accessed from www.nhs.uk. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.

How To See The doctor

sick_child2You can make an appointment by phoning or calling at the surgery. Please inform the receptionist if you need to be seen urgently, you can be seen the same day, you will usually be phoned by a doctor or nurse to see what the problem is and to give you advice or an appointment.

If you wish to see the doctor of your choice you may have to wait longer then 24 hours.

The doctors like to see their own patients, so please see your usual doctor if possible.

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know so someone else can have your place.

Telephone Advice

For telephone advice or an urgent appointment please try and ring between ass near to 08:00 as possible and speak to a receptionist, the doctor or nurse will ring you back.  Our on the day appointments do get book very quickly each day.

You can ask for a routine telephone consultation and the doctor will ring you back at an agreed time.

The receptionists are also happy to pass on messages to the doctors. They can also give advice on forms and ordering medicines.

 

Telephone Consultations

When patients request a telephone consultation with a Doctor our reception staff will ask for a little more information.  This will help us deal with your problem more quickly and efficiently.  Confidentiality will be strictly maintained.  The Doctor may be able to deal with the problem without calling you back and then the receptionist will call you.  Please give some idea of how quickly you need a response.  Thank you for your co-operation with this.

Booking Appointments 

Appointments can be booked via reception or using Patient Online Access - information to register for this service is available from reception or may be requested via email.

Extended Access - Early morning or Later evening Appointments

Patients can access appointments early morning - 7am (Thursday and Friday) or later evening, after 6.30 (Monday and Thursday).  We also offer local Hub appointments which will be at local surgeries and are out of normal surgery opening times and weekends.  To arrange these appointments please call reception.
